It was a banner year for Hampton Bays boys and girls track, and it sent a total of nine athletes to the New York State Track and Field Championships this past June who all have the postseason accolades to show for it. Matthew Papajohn, Joffre Proano and Liam Sutton all earned All-Sectional honors, with Papajohn and Sutton also earning All-County and All-League honors. Southampton, Pierson, Bridgehampton Spring Athletes Garner Postseason Honors

Ella Coady and Elie Poremba led the Southampton girls golf team all spring to second-place finishes in both League IV and at the Suffolk County Championships, where Poremba staved off Coady and Smithtown East’s Sophia Corso for the overall individual title. Poremba, who was joined by her teammate Coady at the New York State Championships, was named All-Long Island in addition to earning All-County and All-League honors. Coady was All-County and All-League and she was also the recipient of the Chick Evans Scholarship, a full, four-year housing and tuition scholarship for golf caddies; Coady is attending Penn State University.
