The Southampton Town Board entered into a memorandum of agreement with the State of New York Department of Environmental Conservation on November 14 to address groundwater remediation already underway at Hampton Bays Fire District property at 69 West Montauk Highway. The MOA, which was advanced via resolution by board members Rick Martel and Cyndi McNamara, authorizes the board, which also serves as the commissioners of the Hampton Bays Water District, to provide notification to the DEC should an existing groundwater filtration system’s operations be terminated.
