Richard A. Brown Dies At 77

Richard A. Brown

Richard A. Brown of Southampton died at Southampton Hospital on Friday, September 2. He was 77.

Mr. Brown was born in Brooks, Maine, to Ralph and Eva Chase Brown. He later moved to work with the Fire Department of New York in Manhattan as a staff analyst until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Brown; children, Arthur Brown of Florida, Kevin Brown of Troy, and Pamela Sink of Franklin Square; brothers, Steven Brown of Maine and Harold Brown of Connecticut; and grandchildren, Brian, Colleen, Lauren and Billy. He was predeceased by his brother Carl Brown.

Visitation was held on Monday, September 5, at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton. A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, September 6, at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Roman Catholic Church in Southampton. Interment followed with full military honors at Long Island National Cemetery in Pinelawn.

Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of December 12

William Campos Lopez, 26, of Speonk was arrested on December 8, at 3:40 a.m., by Quogue Village Police charged him with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. He was pulled over after being observed speeding and failing to maintain his lane on Montauk Highway, police said.
