Richard Oddon Of Mattituck Dies November 14

Richard E. Oddon of Mattituck died at his home on November 14. He was 84.

Mr. Oddon was born in Northport on May 7, 1929, to John Natale and Beryl (Hertzler) Oddon. On August 28, 1949, he married the former Eileen Daw in Northport, and together they made their home in Mattituck for the past 46 years. He had been a drywall contractor and the owner/operator of Richard Oddon Drywall for 50 years.

He was a Jehovah’s Witness and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Mr. Oddon is survived by his wife, Eileen; four children, Vicky Canuso of Quogue, Daniel Oddon of North Carolina, Judith Klipp of Wading River and David Oddon of Mattituck; a sister, Beryl Prianti of Florida; seven grandchildren, Douglas Oddon, Jillian Oddon, Aaron Oddon, Derrick Oddon, Anthony Oddon, Raymond Klipp and Joshua Klipp and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Richard Oddon; and siblings, John, Ronald, Donald and Pauline Ester.

Graveside services were held on November 18 at the Calverton National Cemetery, with Leo Russell officiating. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Homes in Mattituck.

Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of December 12

William Campos Lopez, 26, of Speonk was arrested on December 8, at 3:40 a.m., by Quogue Village Police charged him with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. He was pulled over after being observed speeding and failing to maintain his lane on Montauk Highway, police said.
