Southampton High School students recently earned their American Red Cross CPR certification from instructors Josh Belury and Liz Finkle as part of the requirements to become certified as pool and still water lifeguards. The training was organized by the Southampton High School Outing Club adviser and Southampton Village Ocean Rescue Captain Mitti Abbadessa. The class will be heading to a number of premier schools this fall, including Cornell University, Harvard University, Northwestern University, Penn State and Stony Brook University, to begin their postsecondary studies. Students from Wainscott School visited the Sagaponack School on Friday so that all could learn from the firefighters from the Sag Harbor Fire Department, which brought a truck over to the school for the lesson.
