Show Respect

Time passes so quickly. It’s hard to believe that six years ago, this month, my friend, the “Queen of Soul” — yes, Aretha Franklin — passed.

Aretha was a special lady, a fantastic performer, civil rights activist and a great American, known for “R-E-S-P-E-C-T” of people.

As we approach Election Day, voters should carefully consider candidates who show respect, integrity and concern for the public. Think carefully about who you vote for, regardless of party affiliation.

In the spirit of Aretha Franklin, a candidate who shows no respect for their constituents does not deserve your vote.

In November, I will not mark my ballot for New York State Assembly. It will remain blank.
