Kudos to Southampton Chamber of Commerce’s Karen Connolly. Commerce in the village will zoom with Karen’s interpersonal and caring skills.
When Suffolk Transit On Demand’s online service went down this Friday (the busiest weekend of the season), I found myself stranded in Southampton with no taxi service and no way of returning home to Sag Harbor. I had just sold my car and wanted to see if I could manage with public transport — no way in the Town of Southampton.
Desperate, I stepped into the chamber, to be greeted by Karen’s welcome smile, and, after hearing my dilemma, she offered her husband to drive me home, and they did at the close of her shift.
There is no better ambassador for Southampton commerce, and more, than Karen.
