Stasia Doscinski
Stasia Doscinski (née Yakaboski) of Southampton, formerly of Flanders for 60 years, died at Westhampton Care Center Saturday, February 19.
Born in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Ms. Doscinski graduated from the State University of New York College at Cortland in 1934 with a Bachelor of Arts. She married Edward Doscinski in 1936 at St. Isidore’s Roman Catholic Church. She went on to teach elementary school in Calverton and East Quogue for 30 years.
Ms. Doscinski was a member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Isidore’s and Friends of the Riverhead Free Library.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward. She is survived by two sons, Leonard Doscinski of Vermont and Lawrence Doscinski of Flanders; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Wednesday, February 23, at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral Mass took place Thursday, February 24, at St. Isidore’s Roman Catholic Church in Riverhead, followed by interment at St. John the Evangelist Church cemetery.
