Stella Janas of Hampton Bays died on February 5 at Southampton Hospital. She was 92.
Mrs. Janas worked for several years as a jewelry box manufacturer in Brooklyn. Survivors said this week that she was a devoted Catholic and a woman whose “family was her pride and joy.”
She is survived by a son, John W. Janas of Florida; a daughter, Josephine Luttrell of Queens; seven grandchildren, Joanne Luttrell, Diane Midollo, James and Susan Luttrell, Elizabeth Falo, Diane Carroll, and Deborah Abbott; and nine great-grandchildren, Eric, Nicholas, Robert, Erin, Dylan, Daniel, Rachel, Darwin and Anthony.
Her husband, Joseph Janas, predeceased her.
The family received visitors on February 9 at J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. Funeral services, conducted by the clergy of St. Rosalie’s Roman Catholic Church in Hampton Bays, were held later that day at St. Rosalie’s. Interment followed at Cypress Hills Cemetery in Brooklyn.
