Terrell Bethel of Southampton died on June 14 in Brooklyn. He was 53.
Mr. Bethel was born on August 10, 1966 at Women’s Hospital in Manhattan. He was the son of Clayneal Richardson and the late Terrance Stanley Bethel. He grew up in Southampton.
Mr. Bethel attended the Southampton School District. Later in life, he received a GED.
He was baptized at Community Baptist Church in Southampton, where he was part of the youth choir. He later moved to Mastic, where he married Linda Levy. The couple had a son, Terrance Richardson. Mr. Bethel later relocated to Brooklyn.
Mr. Bethel worked for the Brooklyn Transportation Company. He was a kind-hearted person, hi family said, noting that he loved all his children, family and friends. He was the most loving, compassionate, caring, funny and outspoken person to all, they said, and he always enjoyed a good laugh — a jokester he was, and his big smile is something his family will never forget.
He was predeceased by his father Terrance Bethel. He is survived by his wife Linda Bethel of Shirley; his sons, Maurice Richardson of Southampton, Ramon Pender of Calverton, Terrance Richardson of Shirley, and Gavin Winters of Shirley. He is also survived by his mother Clayneal Richardson of Orangeburg, South Carolina; his sister Janei Carter of Los Angeles; his brothers, Malawi Karim of Las Vegas and Terrance Bethel of Birmingham; his daughter-in-law Tierra Pender of Calverton; his granddaughter Kyla Eleazer of Calverton; his aunt Maryann Myrick of Mastic; his special friends Renee Smith, Lolita Pender, Jaqueline Davis, Corrine Miller and Stefanie Winters; and a host of relatives and friends.
