The Honorable Lester E. Gerard Of Remsenburg Dies September 12

The Honorable Lester E. Gerard of Remsenburg died on September 12. He was 84.

A retired New York State justice of the Supreme Court, he was a 56-year member of the Eastport Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughter, Kimberly and husband Christopher Bernth; granddaughter, Megan Bernth; and a brother, Lloyd, all of Remsenburg; and by a sister, Lynne Quinn of Pleasant Valley, and brother-in-law, Thomas Collins of Eastport.

Visitation was September 14 at Sinnicksons Moriches Funeral Home in Center Moriches. A graveside service took place on September 15 at Remsenburg Cemetery.

Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of December 12

William Campos Lopez, 26, of Speonk was arrested on December 8, at 3:40 a.m., by Quogue Village Police charged him with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. He was pulled over after being observed speeding and failing to maintain his lane on Montauk Highway, police said.
