The Village First

Over the past several weeks, I have seen a plethora of defamatory and untruthful Letters to the Editor regarding my candidacy for Southampton Village trustee. It is time to set the record straight.

Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows that I am an independent thinker. To accuse me of being someone’s “lackey” and “a hand-picked candidate” is mind boggling.

As an active member of the community, I have had the privilege of actively working with all our community members … regardless of political standing. Of my own free will, I decided to attend every meeting of the Board of Architectural Review and Historic Preservation, Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals and Village Board. I would go so far as to say I have been to more meetings than most of those sitting on the dais! I have done my homework and will be a strong and effective manager for it.

If elected, every decision I make will be for the taxpayer. During these uncertain times, we cannot take anything for granted … not our home values, not our tourism, and certainly not our beautiful natural resources.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. I know our voters are intelligent and will not continue down this road of insanity we have seen the past 15 years. We have to start putting the village first.
