William Thomas Bratek Of Hampton Bays Dies November 19

William Thomas Bratek of Hampton Bays died on November 19, surrounded by his family. He was 70.

Mr. Bratek was born in Auburn, New York, on September 4, 1945, the son of Adam J. and Anna Johnson Bratek. After his high school graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force in 1965, and served for four years. After his discharge, he spent 27 years working for FedEx. He retired, moved to Hampton Bays and began working at Southampton Hospital. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and an extremely passionate NASCAR fan. Survivors said he touched many with his generosity and beautiful smile.

Mr. Bratek is survived by two sons, Eric J. Bratek and wife Gina, and Adam W. Bratek; his fiancée, Cathy Pinney, and her children, Jessica Pinney and husband Jorge Brenes, Jody Pinney and husband Dion Clements and Robert Pinney Jr. and wife Kate von Knoblauch; and grandchildren, Aiden Bratek and Leyna Bratek.

A funeral service was held at O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton on Wednesday, November 25.
