The Southampton boys track team couldn't match the depth of Bayport/Blue Point, leading to a 90-50 loss in what was the season-opening meet for both teams on March 27 in Southampton.

Mariner Luke Rey got off to a good start to his season, though, winning both the 100- and 200-meter dashes. He crossed the finish line in the 100 in 12.54 seconds and the 200 in 23.35 seconds. Gavin Johnson won the high jump with a height of 5 feet 4 inches.

The Southampton girls track team also suffered a loss in its season-opening meet, 98-51, at Bayport on the same day. Additional information was not provided.
