Mar 14, 2018 10:54 AM

Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m., U.S. Representative Lee Zeldin will be hosting a “tele-town hall,” from his Washington D.C. office, answering telephone questions from constituents in a streaming video.

According to a press release sent out by his Communications Director Katie Vincentz, Mr. Zeldin will “provide important Congressional updates and directly answer constituent questions.”

There is no given topic for the town hall, and it is not immediately clear how the constituent questions will be selected.

Those interested in participating must sign up on Mr. Zeldin’s official website, https://zeldin.house.gov/live, before 6:30 p.m. to be included on the call, and it will also stream at that same link.

Question: Why are you supporting legislation that instructs the Coast Guard not to enforce striped bass sport fishing regulations?
By harbor (336), East Hampton on Mar 14, 18 11:35 AM
That's why we have Fish & Wildlife, DEC & NOAA, Now you want our Coast Guard to monitor fishing? PS they already do when requested by DEC. Our DEC isn't capable of going far offshore so they request the Guard,(which kinda blows them off somes). CG is far too important to task them with fishing regulations. Our Montauk ship the USCG 87' Cutter Ridley, does much of the local and distant work, ie assigned to JFK jr. S&R, being the Incident Command ship during Sully's dip in the Hudson River, etc. Not ...more

You are so disingenuous, you are trying to politicise this Florida event for your political gain. This should not be about the Second Amendment this should be about protecting our children and hardening are schools. It should be about eliminating these soft targets so our children can go in the morning and come home to us in the evenings safely. As some have said here on these very boards you can just as easily murder in Mass numbers using a car, a truck, a knife, a pressure cooker, and many other ...more

"Space Force"?

I'm pretty sure there's this agreement about no weapons in space. If a nation wants to violate that principle, do so at their own risk...

During consideration of the bill, Rep Lee Zeldin (R-NY) offered two successful amendments that prohibit the Coast Guard and NOAA Fisheries from enforcing a moratorium on striped bass harvest in the EEZ surrounding Block Island, Rhode Island."

Zeldin's legislation would PROHIBIT assistance from Coast Guard and NOAA. Today they have the discretion to assist or not assist the DEC. Zeldin is trying to curry favor with East End commercial captains while stupidly ignoring the negative impact ...more
