Group For The East End Unveils News Wildlife Action Plan Website

Apr 24, 2018 5:15 PM

The Group for the East End recently unveiled the website for its New York State Wildlife Action Plan, a resource that the organization hopes will become a powerful conservation tool for local wildlife species currently experiencing declines in population.

The website, which features essential information on more than 50 high priority species deemed to be in imminent need of conservation, is the product of nearly two years of research and development by the Group for the East End. In addition, visitors to the site can learn more about wildlife behavior, the location of certain species within the ecosystem, and guides on how to interact with wildlife.

“We felt an obligation to raise awareness about the plight of our local wildlife and educate others about the issue,” said Group for the East End president Bob DeLuca, in a prepared statement. “More importantly, we are working to teach others what they can do to help restore the local wildlife populations that enrich our lives and, in many cases, have substantial economic value for our region.”
