15th Annual Authors Night To Benefit East Hampton Library

author on Jun 17, 2019

One of the most popular and celebrity-studded events of the East End summer calendar, each year, Authors Night at East Hampton Library features 100 authors across all genres. The “Premier Literary Event of the Hamptons” has grown over its history to become one of the most successful celebrations of books and authors in America, and one of the largest library-author events of its kind in the country.

Tickets are now on sale for East Hampton Library’s 15th annual Authors Night fundraiser on Saturday, August 10. Featured authors include Alec Baldwin (Authors Night Founding Honorary Chair), Cristina Alger, Amanda Benchley, Jamie Brenner, Douglas Brinkley, Candace Bushnell, Robert A. Caro, Rosanne Cash, Tom Clavin, Garrard Conley, Fiona Davis, Steven Gambrel, Mary Giuliani, Jane Green, Alice Harris, Kristy Woodson Harvey, Elizabeth Holtzman, David Itzkoff, Barbara Kavovit, Ingrid Fetell Lee, Thomas Maier, Bridget Moynahan, Kat Odell, Chris Pavone, Joanne Ramos, Dan Rizzie, Gretchen Rubin, Gianni Russo, Jill Santopolo, Dani Shapiro, Jake Sherman and Anna Palmer, Michael Shnayerson, Jill Twiss, Sybille van Kempen, Vicky Ward, Ali Wentworth, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, Beatriz Williams, Jessica Yellin, and Richard Zoglin.

Authors Night will be held under a grand tent on the “555” field in Amagansett. The field is located just east of the Amagansett IGA and Shell Station, on the north side of Montauk Highway.

The evening begins at 5 p.m. with the Authors Reception under a grand tent, where guests enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres and wine and have the opportunity to meet and mingle with the authors, buy their books, and have them personally inscribed. At 8 p.m., guests dine at dinner parties at private homes in honor of one or more of the guest authors.

“As we mark the 15th anniversary of Authors Night, we’re thankful for the outstanding generosity, participation, and support for the event that we’ve received from both the local and literary communities,” said Dennis Fabiszak, East Hampton Library Director. “The funds raised at Authors Night enable the Library to provide our diverse community with essential programming and services throughout the year—all free of charge.”

Tickets are $100 for the Authors Reception only, and begin at $300 for the dinners (includes entry to book signing reception). Purchase tickets at authorsnight.org, at the Library (159 Main St., East Hampton) or at 631-324-0222.
