In a continued effort to make Southampton Town government more accessible to residents, a Town Board meeting is scheduled to take place in Hampton Bays on Tuesday.
The meeting will be held in the Hampton Bays Community Center located at 25 Ponquogue Avenue at 6 p.m.
A series of board work sessions have been held in various hamlets throughout the past year, and October was the first time a regular Town Board meeting was held outside of Town Hall. That meeting in Hampton Bays was filled to capacity at the community center.
“It’s a promise we sort of made to the community to reach out and make government as accessible as possible,” Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman said at a recent work session.
Additionally, the town, in partnership with Cablevision, installed wiring in the Hampton Bays center, giving it the capability to broadcast live from that location through the town’s television station, SEA TV. A video of the meeting will also be available on the town’s website, southamptontownny.gov.
