The annual “Battle Of The Badges” hockey game between the Southampton Village Police Department and the Southampton Fire Department took place on Sunday at the Southampton Ice Rink on County Road 39. Kyla Cerullo opened the festivities with the singing of the national anthem, then Bob Price, father of Sam Price, a Southampton firefighter who died last May, dropped the ceremonial puck. Sam Price’s hockey jersey number 69, which was retired, was also on display. The Village Police went on to win the game, 14-11. All proceeds of the event were donated to Heart Of The Hamptons, formerly Human Resources of the Hamptons, and the Suffolk County Volunteer Firefighters Burn Center.
