Antoinette Delores Worrell Of Southampton Dies February 20

Antoinette Delores Worrell of Southampton died on February 20, 2019. She was 101.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on March 24, 1917, to John and Mary Seplavich, she was raised in Throop, Pennsylvania; she graduated from high school and attended business school there. She married her husband James G. Worrell on August 16, 1946, and resided in Southampton, where they raised their children.

She was a World War II veteran, having attained the rank of sergeant in the United States Marine Corps Women’s Reserve.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Worrell; and by a brother, William Seplavich.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan McCulley and husband Timothy of Water Mill; by grandchildren Michelle Lesack of South Carolina, Gavin McCulley (Michelle) of South Carolina, and Ryan McCulley (Lisa) of Southampton; and her sister, Ruth Miklus of Throop; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In accord with her wishes there was no visitation. A funeral Mass was held at the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary on February 25 in Southampton. Burial with military honors followed at Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Southampton. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of O’Connell Rothwell Funeral Home.
