Dress for Success recently dressed its 5,000th client on Long Island—another woman empowered with professional attire to face the workplace with confidence.

Thanks to an effort spearheaded by Melissa Pintauro, a sales agent, Douglas Elliman’s Sag Harbor offices is collecting donations to continue to help the cause, which was launched locally on December 2 with a clothing drive and gathering to bring attention to the organization. The event was attended by Diana Weir, the commissioner of housing and women’s services for the Town of Brookhaven, who discussed the contributions of Dress for Success, which also provides networking and professional tools.

Donations can be dropped off through Friday, December 23, at the Douglas Elliman office at 138 Main Street in Sag Harbor. Acceptable items include suits, dresses, pants, blouses, sweaters, jackets, shoes, pocketbooks, costume jewelry, coats, boots scarves and gloves. They do not include jeans, capris, T-shirts and, at this time of year, summer clothing.
