The Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center will host a ceremony recognizing the service and leadership of fire chiefs of color — past and present — representing departments from East Hampton to Southampton. The event will take place on Saturday, May 24, from 10 a.m. to noon, at The Center, located at 551 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike in Bridgehampton. From East Hampton’s Bonac Theater production of “Chicago,” Emma Hand earned a Lead Role in a Musical, Comedy nomination for her performance as Roxie Hart. The Watermill Center will host its community event, Open Spaces, on Saturday, May 31, from noon to 2 p.m. The day will open at with a land blessing and performance by Shinnecock artist Shane Weeks. Throughout the day there will be eight artist-led workshops, crafts, food trucks, and a scavenger hunt across the center’s 10 acres of wooded paths and gardens.
