Firefighters from the East Hampton, Springs and Amagansett fire departments doused a blaze that engulfed the side of a house on Three Mile Harbor Road on Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out at the house at 6 Three Mile Harbor-Hog Creek Road, across from the town marina at the head of Three Mile Harbor, shortly after 6 a.m.

When fire crews arrived, the fire had broken through an outside wall and engulfed a porch on the side of the house.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in a relatively short period of time, about an hour later at approximately 7 a.m., due to the small size of the residence.

No injuries were reported.

Three Mile Harbor Road remained closed to traffic while fire crews continued to search the house for smoldering embers.

The East Hampton Town Fire Marshal arrived to the scene early on and is currently investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
