Home furnishings store West Elm opened in a new location in the Water Mill Shoppes on Montauk Highway on Tuesday, June 3.
West Elm is headquartered in Brooklyn and “creates unique, affordable designs for modern living,” according to a press release. It offers furniture and accessories for living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms and dining rooms. The 7,120-square-foot store in Water Mill will feature a summer assortment of outdoor furniture and accessories, bedding, entertaining pieces and gardening supplies selected especially for residents out here on the East End.
Abigail Jacobs, vice president of brand marketing for West Elm, said the company was looking forward to finally opening up a location out here, especially at the start of summer. “We have been considering a store in the Hamptons for a while now and this location is a great fit,” Ms. Jacobs said. “It allows for a lot of traffic coming through.”
She added that the store caters to both visitors and to people who live in the Hamptons.
The store is open Monday through Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
To celebrate the opening, the new store is giving away a special Water Mill beach bag to the first 300 shoppers who spend at least $50, and all frames are 20 percent off. Also, free ice pops will be given away every Saturday in June from noon to 4 p.m., courtesy of local vendor La Newyorkina.
Company collaborator Steven Alan will also be opening a store next to the new West Elm, Ms. Jacobs said.
