Westhampton Beach School District officials this week acknowledged rumors of “an alleged inappropriate relationship between a staff member and a student” but said they were unable to substantiate the allegations after an internal investigation.“Those rumors have been unsubstantiated,” Westhampton Beach Schools Superintendent Michael Radday said in an email Tuesday, adding that if anyone has any further information about the alleged relationship, they should contact him directly in the district office. The internal investigation was apparently conducted without the knowledge of the Westhampton Beach Village Police or the Board of Education. Mr. Radday declined to answer any other questions regarding the investigation.Westhampton Beach School Board President Suzanne Mensch said earlier this week that she was not aware of any such investigation, though she noted that if she were, she most likely would not be able to comment on the matter because it would qualify as a personnel issue.Westhampton Beach Police Chief Trevor Gonce said no report has been filed with his department regarding any allegations.
