Josephine (Doroski) Kneski of Westhampton died in her home, surrounded by her family, on July 11. She was 88.
Ms. Kneski was born June 16, 1927, in Jamesport, and married Paul Victor Kneski of Westhampton in 1948. Survivors said she will be remembered for her stories of being taken to school in a horse-drawn sleigh in Jamesport, life on the family farm, and working for the New York Telephone Company as an operator in the 1940s. She was an active and dedicated member of Immaculate Conception Church on Quiogue, where she and her friends prepared charity dinners in the 1970s.
Ms. Kneski is survived by her husband, Paul Kneski; five children, Michele Kneski-Cavouto of Westhampton, Paul Kneski Jr. of Florida, Peter Kneski of Florida, Robert Kneski of Westhampton, and John Stanley Kneski of Florida; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Stanley and May Doroski of Flanders; and a sister, Teresa Doroski-Jasinski of Riverhead.
A wake was held on July 13 at the Follett Funeral Home in Westhampton. A funeral was held on July 14 at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, and a burial ceremony followed at Westhampton Cemetery.
