Wilson Fiske Reynolds Jr., formerly of Westhampton Beach, died at home in Colorado on October 21, just as his daughter, Nancy, had landed safely at the airport after spending a week with him, and while his other daughter, Lynn, was at his side. He was 93.
Mr. Reynolds, known as Fiske, was born in Southampton Hospital on August 12, 1922, to Beatrice (Butts) Reynolds and Wilson F. Reynolds Sr. After graduating from Westhampton Beach High School in 1941, he was a lifeguard and mechanic, and joined the armed forces during World War II, serving as a navigator for the Burma Hump pilots.
Mr. Reynolds married Marilyn Barnard on September 10, 1947. His hobby of broadcasting led him to his job of radio dispatcher for the Southampton Town Police. After retirement, the couple moved to Loveland, Colorado, where they spent their last years.
Always active in serving his community, Mr. Reynolds was a volunteer firefighter/first aid responder for the Cutchogue Fire Department, a member of the Long Island Early Fliers Club, served for Meals on Wheels in Loveland and the Handicapped Advisory Board in Loveland, all for many years. His hobbies included body surfing, dancing, broadcasting, building miniature antique cars and ships, and going to the mountains, and he attributed his long life to a shot of Old Grand-Dad every night.
Mr. Reynolds was predeceased by his parents, wife, sister, and many dear friends. He is survived by daughters, Lynn Reynolds St. John and husband Randy and Nancy Reynolds Houston and husband Bob; grandchildren Ryan Schur and wife Heather, and Sarah Coyne Tassi and husband Mark; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Maddison; and estranged granddaughter Erin Coyne and her two children, Grace and Jack.
