Firefighters were called to the TD Bank on Montauk Highway in Westhampton Beach early Friday afternoon following reports of smoke inside the building.
The alarm came in at around 1:15 p.m., and Westhampton Beach firefighters responded to the scene within minutes.
Westhampton Beach Fire Chief John “Chip” Bancroft said the alarm was triggered by a smoking computer processing unit located on the bank’s second floor. The building was evacuated and firefighters unplugged the unit.
