Westhampton Beach Parents, Students Offer Differing Opinions Of Arrested Gym Teacher

Mar 27, 2013 12:52 PM

During a press conference last week, State Troopers stated that anyone found to be bullying girls on social media sites can face arrest and possible criminal charges.

Mr. Radday also said this week that the district has made it clear to students that if they want to talk to someone about the incident or the arrest, they are free to go to the guidance department at the school.

“At this point, we are administratively reviewing our policies and procedures, and if any changes are deemed necessary, we will make those recommendations to the Board of Education,” he said. “For now, we have our counseling team, our guidance counselors and school psychologists available to students.”

As for Mr. Lombardi, he said he has noticed a shift in the atmosphere inside the building, explaining that his decision to ask questions about the incident at a recent Board of Education meeting has upset some of the teachers and students at the school who are supporters of Mr. Sheppard.

Additionally, Mr. Lombardi said he cannot understand why so many people are defending Mr. Sheppard when they do not have all the facts yet.

“I am trying to tell people to stop until the investigation is done,” Mr. Lombardi said.

so this means that when the teachers and their union vote no to to pay freezes and step ups, that they only need to lay off 12 teachers?

... why would you put so stupid an article here, calling for opinions of this man, in light of the delicate nature of the accusations and potential outcome for all involved? Are you attempting to try this man on the blog? Or is it simply another in a long string of attempts by the editor/staff to denigrate teachers and the educational system in general.

Or are you simply trying to drum up revenue via subscriptions by publishing and locking out non-subscribers by offering controversial ...more
