The wait is almost over.

The new CVS Pharmacy on Sunset Avenue in Westhampton Beach is scheduled to open next month, nearly 16 months after ground was broken on the project.

According to Amy Lanctot, senior manager of public relations for CVS, the pharmacy sited at the former bowling alley property is currently slated to open on Sunday, March 18.

The CVS will take up half of the 20,000-square-foot property, with the other 10,000 square feet divvied up into six storefronts. According to Westhampton Beach Building Administrator Paul Houlihan, only one of those storefronts has been claimed by a tenant: he said that a nail salon is set to move in, though the business’s wet use requirements will need additional permits from the Suffolk County Board of Health.

Pan Brothers Associates, the Manhattan-based real estate company which owns the property through Sunset West LLC, did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

Mr. Houlihan noted that the property owner must still provide the village with a few documents, including a final survey of the CVS property, but that he plans to do a last walk-through with the contractor, Rocco J. Lettieri of Home Front Organization Inc., this week. “They are far enough along that they certainly could get the CVS open by the 18th,” said Mr. Houlihan in an interview on Monday.

He added that the owners still intend to construct a 6,000-square-foot building and a 1,500-square-foot building on the property as well, though they have not started work on them yet.

The new structure is the first of its kind to be developed in accordance with the design guidelines set forth by the village in 2010, mandating that new buildings blend in with preexisting architecture. The bowling alley closed its doors more than a decade ago.

oh awesome! like we totally needed another one of these.
I'd really like to thank the building owners and CVS franchisee for brining a unique, valuable, wonderful, and totally awesome business to the community. If only there were more of these stores in the hamptons, we'd all be better off.
I hope that they sell low cost holiday decorations, food in bar form, westhampton t-shirts and more. Finally we have a place for people to be paid terrible wages so that we can get the products we ...more

The above poster can hope and goof for all that. I hope, if and when, CVS buys United Healthcare they establish one of their health clinics there. Integrating a pharmacy, doctors office, and medical insurer under one roof could revolutionize the industry. What are little Barts and stagnant Rite Aid doing?
