As it always is, the 51st annual Westhampton Beach St. Patrick’s Day parade was a tremendous hit among spectators, who cheered on 2018 Grand Marshal Peter Cuthbert as he made his way along Mill Road and, later Main Street in the village. Such poor attendance , and even parade participants were limited. Just a few years back this was a significant east end event. Not sure if it was the cold weather or the limitiations of the town. Hopefully, next year will have a better turn out on both ends.

The days of people falling around drunk claiming to be Irish for the day are over. How many times do we have to listen to fire engines blowing there horns.Lets take a long look and see if this is an event that should continue.Perhaps a day of Irish culture ie music, poetry and dance would be a better way to honor the contributions of Irish people to the history and quality of life her on the East End.The same goes for Hampton Bays and Montauk.
