DA investigators seize files from Guldi's law office in Westhampton Beach

Feb 11, 2009 11:49 AM

She added that she and Mr. Diffley plan to re-file the motion with the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court in Brooklyn.

Meanwhile, Mr. Guldi said that disagrees with Judge Garguilo’s reason for denying the motion, adding that he is confident that his attorneys will succeed in their appeal. Mr. Guldi said that the ruling holds that “only criminals can be protected against unreasonable search and seizures, and people who have not been charged can be searched.”

In November, Mr. Guldi’s 150-year-old home on Griffing Avenue in Westhampton Beach was destroyed in a fire. A report on file with the Southampton Town Fire Marshal’s office states that the cause of the fire is “undetermined.” The report notes only that the blaze was caused by an “electrical event.”

It appears that the district attorney’s office ongoing mortgage fraud investigation has already snagged at least one person. In December, Marie Poulard, 50, of East Quogue was charged with first-degree grand larceny, a felony, for using false documentation to obtain a mortgage and purchase a home featuring a pool and tennis court on 1.4 acres in East Quogue, according to authorities.

News 12 said Guldi may be part of a 50 home Mortgage scam. Another corrupt
elected official?? Why was the first comment posted here removed?

The poster simply used the word "crook" then asked about a similar article.

And for the poster whose comment was removed by the Press........It is
Mayor Mini Madoff Motz of Quogue - he is no-ones husband, his wife is the Village
Judge. Just so there is no confusion..........

look closely Mr. DA - I think you will find a lot of mortgage fraud was committed - and just don't look at the higher end houses -

I get the sense that Mr. Guldi -- who hasn't been an "elected official" for a number of years, "G" -- isn't the actual target of this investigation, just the highest profile one.

This has been a rough year so far for Westhampton Beach lawyers.

Does this have any relation to Guldi wiggling out several years ago from under a mortgage -- he called it a "line of credit" -- on a house he lived in?

Well, Ms. Easthamptoner, given today's development, you seem to have had some special insights into all this.

What else do you know?
