Barbara Guinn Atherton of Manassas, Virginia, died at her home on April 24, 2019. She was 74.

Ms. Atheron was born in Mt. Vernon, New York, on September 23, 1944, to Ida May (Pritchett) and Robert M. Guinn. She grew up in Eastchester and graduated from Eastchester High School and Lynchburg College.

She was a physical education teacher before deciding to stay home to raise her children. For many years she worked as a jewelry consultant and salesperson, a job for which she was well suited since she enjoyed meeting people, and her customers often became friends.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jaime; son Dusty and wife Dawn of Colorado; daughter Lyndsey Lee and husband Chris of Manassas; and four grandchildren, Kassidy, Robby, Jack, and Matthew; and her sister, Marilyn Guinn and husband Kenn Sly.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 4, at 3 p.m. at the Pierce Funeral Home in Manassas.
