The Southampton Village law firm Gilmartin & Bregman, home to three former East Hampton and Southampton town attorneys, has merged with Uniondale-based Farrell Fritz P.C.
The merger took place just after Labor Day. David Gilmartin Jr. will become a partner at Farrell Fritz. His father, David Gilmartin Sr., and partner Eric Bregman will serve as counsel at the firm and attorney Amy Murphy will become an associate with the firm at its Hauppauge offices.
“We reached a point where we needed to expand to better serve our clients, and we found that this was a great opportunity for us to do that,” the junior Mr. Gilmartin said. “They have a broad-based practice, they do just about everything, so it was very attractive to us and gives us the ability to deal with all legal situations for our clients.”
Both Mr. Gilmartins are former Southampton Town attorneys. Mr. Bregman is a former East Hampton Town attorney. Their practice had focused primarily on land use, real estate, litigation, trusts and estates and surrogate’s practice.
The Gilmartins and Mr. Bregman will work out of Farrell Fritz’s Bridgehampton offices. The firm also has offices in Uniondale, Manhattan and Hauppauge.
