Teddy Goldberg of Great Neck, formerly of East Moriches, died on June 20, 2018, in Manhasset, after a long illness.

Born Teddy Allen in Brooklyn, June 1926, her parents were Jacob and Bessie Tabachnick Allen. She met her future husband, George, who lived around the corner, when she was 16. They married in 1947; Mr. Goldberg predeceased her in 2003.

Ms. Goldberg was a proud alumna of James Madison High School in Brooklyn. She worked at various jobs, taking time out to raise her three children in Jericho and Great Neck. She and her husband started their own businesses; GGX Associates in 1974, and Scan Newsletter in 1977, both of which were involved with the bar code/scanning industry, then in its infancy.

Ms. Goldberg was an incredible knitter in her younger years. She loved the theater and was an accomplished painter. She enjoyed travelling and visited both Russia and China, when she was well into her 60s. Survivors said she was a great listener and very funny to be around. She had great taste and was always very stylish.

The Goldbergs owned a home on Hart’s Cove in East Moriches from 1983 until 2014. Survivors said they loved their time “away” in East Moriches, where they made many friends and spent happy weekends in all seasons looking out on the bay.

Ms. Goldberg is survived by her children, Jeff of Washington, D.C., Robbi of Westhampton Beach, David and wife Nanci of Port Washington; and a grandson, Jonathon of Port Washington.
