Marlys Neiman-Immerman died at her home in Southampton on September 13. She was 93.
Born August 4, 1922, she was raised in Minnesota and moved to Chicago and worked for IBM for many years. Her love of the arts drew her to Manhattan, where she got a job at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Among her many accomplishments was the relocation of historic Egyptian artifacts, saving them from being submerged and supervising the creation of the displays as they are currently viewed.
Ms. Neiman-Immerman was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Immerman, and his daughter Susan Lynn Hale; and her brother, James Bielke. She is survived by her sisters, Jeanne Olson and Lorna Vujovichalso; children, Gary Immerman and wife Barbara of North Sea, Patti Kurkowski of Florida, and Nancy Rewinski and husband Tom of North Sea; and grandchildren, Rich and Barbara Hale, Greg and Kacey Immerman, Tom and Hilary Rewinski, and Sydney Kurkowski.
A wake was held at the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton on September 15. A funeral service was held at the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary on September 16.
Interment was beside her husband at Calverton National Cemetery.
