James “Jim” DeLouise of Southampton died at home on February 21, 2018. He was 70.
Born in New York City on May 19, 1947, to Joseph and Elizabeth DeLouise, he graduated from Copiague High School, and after earning his undergraduate degree, went on to earn a master’s degree in biology and horticulture. He was in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.
A science teacher in Smithtown, he was known as a jack of many trades, working also as a landscaper, caterer and tour guide.
Besides living in Southampton, Mr. DeLouise resided in Copiague and Florida.
He is survived by his partner, Joe Morgan; siblings, Joseph DeLouise, Rayne Novak and Carole Esposito; nieces and nephews, Richard A. Punger, Jackie Acosta, Rayne McGreevy, Elizabeth Gant and Sandy DeLouise, Joseph DeLouise; and 16 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
A funeral service was held at Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton on February 24.
