Florence Liberti Magee Mercer of Southampton died in her sleep on January 25, 2019. She was 90.

Raised in Sag Harbor, and a longtime resident of the East End, she loved everything about the area, especially the beauty of the ocean and bay beaches and the tranquility of her home in North Sea which she called her personal paradise. Survivors said she had a zest for life, a great capacity to love, a quick smile and a mischievous sense of humor. She shared her optimistic spirit with her family, which extended beyond the East End to California and Florida.

Survivors said she was a dedicated and loving mother, a proud and doting grandmother, a devoted sister, a fun aunt and a loyal friend.

Ms. Mercer is survived by her children, Michelle Magee of San Francisco, Michael Magee and wife Carol of Southampton, and Maureen Magee of Florida; her grandchildren, Meghan Fanning and husband James, Matthew Magee and fiance Victoria, and Ryan Arvin; her sister Vivian Castantine; and nieces and nephews Debbie, Belinda, Angelo and Kevin. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Kathryn Magee.

A memorial service is being planned for this summer. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton.

Memorial donations may be made to the Sag Harbor Fire Department or the Peconic Land Trust.
