Frank J. Zyckowski, a lifelong resident in Southampton, died on September 18, 2019. He was 82.
In 1955, Mr. Zyckowski enlisted in U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division, nicknamed the “Rakkasans.” He was employed by Long Island Lighting Company for 50 years. In 1970, he became a volunteer firefighter with the Hampton Bays Fire Department, remaining an active member until his death. He also served his community as a volunteer EMT and as part time police officer with Town of Southampton. Mr. Zyckowski is predeceased by his parents, Mary Browne Zyckowski and Julius Zyckowski; his first born son, Brother John Michael, O.de M.; and his sister, Joan Fucito. He is survived by his children, James, Susan, Mary, and William Zyckowski; his sister, Rita Antilety; grandchildren Daniel, Brittney, Amanda, Morgan, William Jr. and Matthew; great-grandchildren Ava, Olivia, and Hunter. He is also survived by his Hampton Bays Fire Department family.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Rothwell Funeral Home in Hampton Bays.
