Boat Fire Extinguished In Noyac

May 22, 2011 1:49 PM

Firefighters and police responded to a boat fire on Mill Creek in Noyac Sunday morning. No one was injured, according to Southampton Town Police.

Sergeant Susan Ralph said firefighters managed to put out the blaze, and the cause is still under investigation. When reached early Sunday afternoon, she did not yet know the extent of the damage to the boat, nor its size or model. No one was on the boat at the time of the fire, she said.

“It’s been taken into our custody, so they can determine the cause of the fire,” Sgt. Ralph said. She did not know the name of the marina where the boat was docked.

The North Sea Fire Department and the Southampton Fire Department could not be reached on Sunday.

I t was a Mastercraft ski boat. It was at a private dock in front of a pine neck home and looked to be completely destroyed.

It was actually a 22 foot Regal Deck Boat and Sea Tow helped remove the wreck.

Maybe they should contact the Sag Harbor FIre Dept. Since they were the one who responded. Also it was at Noyac Marina

It was a boat docked in Mill Creek Marina and because of the quick action of the Sag Harbor fire Department, no other boats were damaged.

Will the boatowner be re-imbursing the taxpayers for services provided?
