Ann H. Bellows of Montpelier, Virginia, formerly of Hampton Bays, died August 7. She was 84.
A city girl who fell in love with an adventurous soul, her late husband Robert A. Bellows, 68 years ago, she came to love camping, gardening—flowers and vegetables—and anything her husband suggested. Survivors said she put family before everything.
She loved to travel and enjoyed visiting all seven continents with her husband. Mrs. Bellows was a gifted seamstress and knitter. She made something for every member of the family and close friends. There was always some sort of project in the works. She was also a talented cook and could make a feast for a crowd—she enjoyed having a house full of people.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Ruth H. Burton. She is survived by her four daughters and their husbands; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the National Parks Conservation Association, npca.org; or Defenders of Wildlife, defenders.org.
