Calvin George McKay died November 29, 2018 at Heritage Care in North Carolina. He was 85.
Born September 16, 1933, in Floral Park, to Alexander Dunbar McKay and Elsie Viola Nelson Cowle, he was the widower of Jacqueline Eleanor Doyle McKay. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a manager at Northwest Airlines. He was a past member of Empire Hose Company of the Merrick Fire Department and the North Sea Fire Department, a member of Christ Episcopal Church, and the American Legion Post 924 Hampton Bays.
He is survived by his children, Christopher Calvin McKay (Laurieann), Jacqueline Suzanne McKay, both of Long Island, and Jennifer Lee Tillett (Reginald) of North Carolina; a daughter-in-law, Tony McKay of Texas; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Eleanor McKay of Indiana and Patricia Conrad of Delaware. He was predeceased by a son, Scott Craig McKay; and a brother, Thomas N. McKay.
