Two Vehicles Stolen From Driveways In Quogue

May 29, 2018 3:02 PM

Quogue Police are investigating the theft of two vehicles from separate driveways in Quogue sometime between Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

At 6:36 a.m. on Tuesday police discovered an abandoned 2018 Mercedes convertible parked unattended with the windows down on Box Tree Road in East Quogue. Police contacted the owner who confirmed that the vehicle had been stolen from their driveway on Leaward Lane, where it was parked on Monday night.

The second vehicle, a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee, was stolen from a driveway on Beach Lane—less than a mile from where the Mercedes was found. The Jeep’s owner reported the vehicle stolen at 9 a.m. on Tuesday. It was found later that morning parked unattended on Leaward Lane.

Sergeant Daniel Hartman said on Tuesday that both thefts are under investigation and that no arrests have been made. “We can’t link them at this point,” he said.
