Dennis Charles Palmer, a 50-year resident of Speonk, died at home on November 20. He was 79.
Born July 25, 1936, in England, he was an accomplished chef, working for House of Parliaments in London, England, and the Cunard Cruise Lines and owning several of his own restaurants. He also owned several businesses throughout his life, including Riverhead Coal Yard, most recently, and Hillside Antique and Flea Market in Pulaski, New York.
Survivors said Mr. Palmer was devoted to his family and his work, and enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, golfing, gardening and always staying active.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, Christopher and Jeremy; daughter, Nicole; sister, Jean; and four granddaughters, Emma, Abigail, Mackenzie and Jordan.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Follett and Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach.
