Renate Gertrude Endres of Remsenburg died on October 28 at Brookhaven Hospital. She was 77.
Ms. Endres was born on July 22, 1937, in Berlin, Germany. She lived in Berlin during World War II and witnessed the Berlin Wall being put up, separating her family and friends. She went back to Berlin to witness the wall being torn down in 1989. She had lived in Remsenburg since 1967 and was active in the community.
Ms. Endres is survived by her three children, James Dougherty of East Quogue, Manuela Martins of Nevada and Lore Hudson of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Crystal Schieferstein, James J. Dougherty, Daniel Dougherty, Cole Hudson and Keenan Hudson; and two great-grandsons, Jon and Jessie Schieferstein.
