Aug 16, 2017 8:51 AM

A Mastic man was charged with four felony counts after he was found with a variety of drugs with the intention of selling them, police said.

Damion Walker, 40, was arrested by Southampton Town Police at 7:58 p.m. on Thursday on Old Quogue Road in Riverside and charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a narcotic and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, both felonies, as well as unlawful possession of marijuana and having a broken window on his car, both violations.

Police said they observed a group of drug users talking to Mr. Walker, who was in the driver’s seat of a vehicle that was parked in a known drug area in Riverside. According to authorities, after noticing the officer, the group walked away from the vehicle and Mr. Walker sped off in his car.

A short time later Mr. Walker was stopped for having a broken windshield, and his vehicle smelled like marijuana, said police, who added that when Mr. Walker exited the vehicle, he turned over a knotted plastic bag of marijuana from his pants pocket.

Police said they then searched the vehicle and found two knotted plastic bags containing a large quantity of crack cocaine and a third knotted plastic bag containing a large quantity of heroin. Mr. Walker was also in possession of a large quantity of cash that was broken up into smaller amounts, which is indicative of proceeds from drug sales, according to police.

Mr. Walker was taken to Southampton Town Police headquarters in Hampton Bays where he was processed and held for arraignment. He was then remanded to Suffolk County Jail in Riverside where he is currently being held without bail.

Mr. Walker’s next court date is August 16 at Southampton Town Justice Court in Hampton Bays.
