Kathryn Elizabeth Magee of Sag Harbor died at her home on September 16, 2018. She was 35.
Known as Katie to her family and friends, she was born in Southampton Hospital on June 30, 1983. After graduating from Southampton High School in 2001, she attended William and Mary College and New York University for her undergraduate degree. Ms. Magee earned a master’s degree from Columbia University in environmental studies and public policy.
A staunch environmentalist, she lived by her beliefs and cared deeply for land preservation and sustainability. One of the final projects she worked on as an environmental consultant at VHB Engineering was the future park off Ferry Road in Sag Harbor.
Ms. Magee is survived by her parents, Michael and Carol Magee; a sister, Meghan and husband James Fanning; a brother, Matthew and girlfriend Victoria Arnan-Fretheim; her grandmother, Florence Mercer; three aunts, Joyce Babcock, Michelle Magee and Maureen Magee; and three cousins, Ben Babcock, Christopher Babcock and Ryan Arvin.
Memorial donations may be made to the Group for the East End, The Nature Conservancy or the Peconic Land Trust.
