Ronald E. Lipetz, originally of Southampton, died on April 15, 2018. He was 79.
Born June 3, 1939, in Southampton, he was a longtime resident of Patchogue. A quintessential alumnus and supporter of the Gunnery School, Lehigh University, and Brooklyn Law School, he was also an active member of the Suffolk County Bar Association and was an assistant district attorney for Suffolk County. He received the Golden Anniversary Award from the Suffolk County Bar Association in 2016, in recognition of his 50 years of service to the profession and the legal community. He was a member of the Tower Society and the ASA Packer Society, friends of the Zoeller Arts Center, and the Lehigh Athletics partnership.
Mr. Lipetz was a deputy chief in the Appeals Bureau and was awarded a medal for 25 years of distinguished service with the District Attorneys Office.
He was predeceased by his mother, Marie; and father, Gordon M. Lipetz, a former New York Supreme Court justice; and his sister, Carol Woessner. He is survived by his sister, Jeanne Doucette; and nephews, Stephen and Andrew Dodd and their families.
No services are planned in accordance with Mr. Lipetz’s wishes.
