There will be no shortage of things to do in Westhampton Beach this weekend, with two popular events—the fifth annual Oyster Festival and the second annual Harvest Festival—taking place simultaneously on Saturday, October 8.
The Oyster Festival is once again being hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Greater Westhampton at the village marina off Library Avenue. The family-friendly event will feature food and entertainment, including an interactive pirate show, sword fighting lessons, an oyster shucking competition, local craft beers, a New England clam chowder contest, and live music.
Although admission is free, there is a suggested donation of $5 per person. Festivities will kick off at 10 a.m. More information, including a schedule of events, can be found online at www.whboysterfest.com.
Up the street, visitors will find more family friendly activities at the Harvest Festival, which runs from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Main Street, which will be closed to vehicular traffic during the event.
Sponsored by the Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce, the Harvest Festival will feature several food trucks and vendor tents manned by area restaurants, There will also be a roped off beer garden, and a children’s play area on Glover’s Lane.
There is no charge to attend. Additional details can be found online at www.westhamptonchamber.org.
Parking for both events will be available on the Great Lawn and at Village Hall, with the village hosting a free trolley service that will make stops at both parking lots and venues.
