Our Fabulous Variety Show Founders Will Put On Two-Woman Comedy Show Friday

author on Sep 25, 2018

Anita Boyer and Kasia Klimiuk, the founders of the East End theater and dance troupe Our Fabulous Variety Show, will perform as a comedy duo on Friday, September 28, when they put on their two-woman show “Shut Up and Laugh!” at Guild Hall in East Hampton.

The South Fork residents will draw from their experience writing and directing Our Fabulous Variety Show productions for the past eight years, as well as from their personal lives and friendship. They will perform monologues, characters and improvisational comedy. The show will also feature the OFVS improv crew, including Kristen Lee Curcie and Joe Pallister.

The one-night only event is in anticipation of Femme Fest: She Makes Me Laugh, a comedy festival coming to the Peoples Improv Theater in Manhattan on October 13 and 14.

Our Fabulous Variety Show is also preparing for its annual holiday show, which will benefit the OFVS Performing Arts Scholarship. The scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to students while they pursue a degree in drama, dance, music and more, whether on stage or behind the scenes.

Scholarship applications are due by November 1. To download the application, visit ourfabulousvarietyshow.org. The recipient will be announced at the matinée at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, at Guild Hall.

Shut Up and Laugh takes place on Friday, September 28, at Guild Hall in East Hampton. Tickets range from $15 to $25, but the first 50 tickets sold are only $10. Visit ourfabulousvarietyshow.org or call 631-507-4603.
